A rezoning application can take up to 45-60 days, which involves hearings at the following levels:

  1. Town of Menasha Planning Commission – typically the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. (Town Municipal Complex). The Planning Commission makes a recommendation on the rezoning proposal.

  1. Town of Menasha, Town Board of Supervisors – typically the 4th Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. (Town Municipal Complex).  The Town Board makes a decision on the rezoning and may or may not accept the recommendation of the Town Planning Commission. This decision is then forwarded on to Winnebago County.

  1. Winnebago County Planning & Zoning Committee – typically the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. (County Courthouse). The P&Z Committee reviews the rezoning at this public hearing.

  1. Winnebago County Board – typically the third Tuesday of the month after the P&Z public hearing. The final approval or denial is determined at this meeting.
