TOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Municipal Complex - Assembly Room
Monday, September 13, 1999

MINUTES

Agendas with resolutions were posted at the Municipal Complex, Fire Station 40, and Sanitary District No. 4. Agendas with resolutions were also mailed to the Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah libraries.

    1. CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND ROLL CALL

      Town Chair Arden Tews called the regular meeting of the Town Board of Supervisors to order at 5:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

      Clerk Sprague noted the roll as follows:

      CREATION OF TOWN OF MENASHA UTILITY DISTRICT IN THE TOWNS OF MENASHA AND NEENAH AND CITIES OF APPLETON, MENASHA, AND NEENAH - WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WISCONSIN

      Clerk Sprague stated that all publications and notifications were completed by the Clerk’s office pursuant to Wis. State Statutes 60.71(4)(b).

      Chairman Tews directed Administrator Vitas to provide an overview of the sequence of events that took place regarding this issue.

      Administrator Vitas provided an overview of all the significant meetings and transactions involved prior to the Public Hearing in regards to the creation of the Town of Menasha Utility District.

      Chairman Tews asked if there were any questions or comments.

      Supervisor for the Town of Neenah, Jan De Keyser asked under what time table did the Town intend to proceed with this creation?

      Chairman Tews responded that immediately following this Public Hearing at the Regular Town Board Meeting which will commence at 6:00 p.m. today.

      Attorney John Claypool addressed additional issues under Section 109.06 (Administrative Code) regarding equalization. He suggested that the Town adopt an ordinance in regards to the dissolution of Sanitary District 4.

      Administrator Vitas stated that one of the 1st things that the Town intends to do is to have an informational meeting with all of the Sanitary District No. 4 employees.

      Chairman Tews asked if there were any further questions.

    2. ADJOURNMENT

Seeing there were no further comments, questions or objections, Chairman Tews declared the public hearing closed at 5:50 p.m.
