RE:          Agenda Item 6: Rezoning – Neenah Joint School District

The applicant is proposing to rezone four parcels from R-2 (Suburban Single-Family) to P-1 (Institutional & Recreational Park). These properties are used by Spring Road Elementary. The applicant wants to construct an outdoor shelter on one of the vacant R-2 lots. Since this would not be an allowed use for the R-2 zoning district, staff advised the applicant to rezone all of the R-2 lots to P-1 in order for there to be one uniform zoning. The school properties are surrounded by R-2 single-family lots. Property owners within 300 ft. have been notified of the rezoning request.

Furthermore, the applicants will also have to submit a Certified Survey Map, combining all of the Spring Road Elementary lots into one new lot since the accessory structure (shelter) cannot be on a P-1 lot without first having a principal structure. This also enables the Neenah Joint School District to receive just one tax bill for the Spring Rd. Elementary site.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of the Rezoning as it conforms to the Towns adopted Comprehensive Plan.
